What Are You Selling at Home Shows?

Okay, so here’s how it works at my house. It’s Saturday morning and kinda chilly outside. My wife & I have been talking about those home projects that I am definitely going to do this fall, so loading the kids up in the mini van and driving 35 minutes to walk around a convention hall where we can be subjected to a couple of hours of high pressure sales seems like a grand idea. And besides, my spine needs tested again and my wife has been itching for one of the telescoping rubber broom things that miraculously takes dog hair out of the carpet while simultaneously giving you an excellent cardiovascular workout.

It’s not a cookbook

The sales profession has been in existence since the beginning of time and will remain so as long as there are sentient creatures with different goods and services interacting with each other.  I have many times heard the very true statement that there is nothing new in sales, meaning that all of the training and techniques that are out there are simply different ways of saying the same things.  While I really believe this to be true, I also believe that consumers and consumer attitude does change.
